The Gaziantep Development Foundation (GAGEV) Board of Directors and Board of Trustees convened under the presidency of Gaziantep Governor Davut Gül.
The 100th anniversary events of Gaziantep's liberation from enemy occupation will be held under the auspices of the Presidency upon the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The first meeting was held under the presidency of Gaziantep Governor Davut Gül within the scope of the 100th anniversary events. Governor Gül said that this city, which has 6317 martyrs and rightfully earned the title of Gazi, should enter the 100th year in a manner befitting it.
Gül, who emphasized that various events should be organized throughout the year with feverish work and planning at the meeting held in the Atatürk Meeting Hall with the participation of the Gaziantep Development Foundation Board of Trustees, mayors, vice-chancellors and relevant institution managers, said, “With these events that we want to hold with the participation of all people of Antep, we will both fulfill our duty to our ancestors in a spiritual sense and take this city one step further. We should enter the 100th year of Gaziantep, the only province in the world with the title of “Gazi”, being honored with the title of Gazi by the Turkish Grand National Assembly with its epic struggle in the War of Independence. For this, we have started our work with the “Gaziantep Model”, which is appreciated and shown as an example, as always. This city deserves the best of everything and has the power to do the best.”
Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, on the other hand, stated that the event should be promoted on the international platform and emphasized the importance of each event contributing to both the city and the country's marketing. The meeting, which continued with a presentation prepared within the scope of the 100th anniversary events, ended with an exchange of views.
